Lisbon Coast « Portugal
1. Praia Grande
Good quality beachbreak picking up plenty of swell. Generally best at the southern end where there is some shelter from southerly winds too
2. Praia Pequena
Fast, hollow slightly closey beach-break that joins up with Praia Grande at low tide. Sometimes a good right off the rocks at the northern end
3. Cresmina
4. Guincho
Exposed west facing beach that picks up plenty of swell but also more wind than most spots. Powerful waves and can feel a little intimidating
5. Sao Pedro
Sheltered right hand point break. Usually lacks power but a good get away spot
6. Carcavelos
High quality beachbreak providing hollow, punchy waves. Lefts are the best. Drawbacks include city crowds and filthy water
7. Costa da Caparica
Long stretch of beaches with groynes at the northern end providing more consistent banks. Generally fairly mellow wave and less crowded than the beaches north of the River Tejo
