New Pier « Durban

Durban's premier wave, and for good reason. With a solid swell the pier can produce a spitting barrels that are regularly ridden for over 6 seconds. On the downside the place is a zoo and the pecking order is pretty rigid

Another downside to New Pier is the fact that the pier is a fishing pier. With angler / surfer relations being less than cordial at the best of times look out for the odd chunk of flying lead!

I have been a victim of “The Locals”.. alomost got into a fight with one guy over a way! Those guys are sooo dedicated! So when they miss the wave on your account they you’re in s**t. But New Pier is the best Surf Spot I have ever been into!
